Eighteen (18) years experience on all aspects of Rotating Machinery for onshore and offshore applications including specification and selection, design approval, witness testing, inspection, installation, commissioning, start-up, maintenance and technical services. This involved project work in the design office and field support on site. Engaged in troubleshooting, condition monitoring, vibration analysis, failure analysis, field balancing, borescope inspections, overhauls, retrofits, change-outs, and re-rates on centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, steam and gas turbines, BFW pumps, cryogenic pumps, vertical pumps, fans and gearboxes. Conversant with rotor high-speed balancing, machine alignment, compressor surge, parallel operation, rotor dynamics, Campbell and Goodwin Diagrams, dynamic simulations and torsional critical speed analysis. Familiar with API,British and Eumpean Standards, ASME PTC's and Shell DEP's. Detailed knowledge and experience of auxiliaries such as CCC surge and performance controllers, dry gas seals, electronic governors, magnetic bearings, diaphragm couplings, vibration and bearing temperature monitoring equipment, lube and seal oil systems and acoustic enclosures. Extensive involvement with Equipment Vendors.

PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT OMAN, Muscat, Oman
SENIOR ROTATING EQUIPMENT ENGINEER-FIELD SUPPORT
Based in the interior of Oman, provided field support on Rotating Equipment to Maintenance/Operations groups at 17 production stations in 4 different areas of N. Oman. This included Ruston/Solar/RollsRoyce/GE gas turbines and Dresser/Solar/Elliott Borsig compressors and a variety of pumps and other equipment. Involved in troubleshooting, condition monitoring, vibration analysis and investigation and analysis of machinery failures. Supervised major overhauls of compressors and gas turbines and conducted field tests. Reviewed proposals for field changes to rotating equipment and auxiliary systems. Provided input to design groups on proposals for new equipment and modifications or retrofits to existing equipment. Liased with machinery vendors.

SENIOR ROTATING EQUIPMENT ENGINEER
Responsible for machinery upgrades and retrofits, and new compressor installations, for offshore platforms. This covered multi-stage, multi-case compressors, gas turbines, gearboxes, couplings and lube and seal oil systems. Work included specification and selection of new multi- case NGL Compressor and high-pressure Reinjection Compressor to API and Shell DEP Standards, retrofit of dry gas seals, replacement of pneumatic surge controllers with CCC electronic surge and performance control system, installation of new LP rotors, and change-out of gear couplings to diaphragm couplings. Reviewed Vendor drawings, documents, P&l D's and engineering reports. Made studies on parallel operation, dynamic simulations, feasibility of magnetic bearings, compressor and turbine uprates and surge control. Provide technical support and advice on rotating equipment to Maintenance and Production Departments. Responsibilities also included troubleshooting, inspection of equipment, installation, commissioning, testing and start-up.

This included a Wet Gas Compressor and air blower for a Shell RCCU, a Wet Gas Compressor and air blower for a Caltex FCCU and gas compressors for a BHP Petroleum Methonal Plant, as well as steam turbines, gearboxes, motors, CCC surge and performance systems, dry gas seals, electronic governors, vibration and bearing temperature monitoring equipment, lube oil systems and acoustic enclosures. Reviewed Vendor drawings and data sheets, lateral and torsional analysis reports, Campbell and Goodwin Diagrams, dynamic simulations, performance curves and factory test procedures. Investigated machinery failures and wrote failure analysis reports. Specified and selected new rotating equipment. Monitored compressor and turbine overhauls. Engaged in field balancing of 30MW steam turbine rotors. Made studies on change-out of gear couplings to diaphragm couplings, replacement of steam turbines with gas turbines, upgrade of pneumatic surge controllers to CCC electronic surge control system, and re-rates of compressors and turbines.
