• Installation analysis, riser stalk-on, pipeline surface recovery analysis, spool-piece and riser design.

• Detailed design experience of barge-installed, lightweight deep-water jackets.
• Extensive jacket FE stress and fatigue analyses. (SESAM)
• Design of sea4astenings, module lifts and jacket launches.

• Structural integrity surveys and rehabilitation.

International assignment with Taylor Wood row built experience in:

• Major concrete and earthworks construction.

1994 to Present

Project and technical role in the development of onshore and offshore oil & gas pipelines and facilities for Qatar. Project activities include:-

• Khuff Gas Distribution Network replacement - 160 km of large diameter gas line including, pressure let-down stations, SCADA, telemetry, line break valves, CP and upgrade of well-head treatment plants. Supervising FEED and detailed design phases of Project.
• Dukhan Field - Replacement of 400,000 BPD main oil transmission network. c. 100 km of 24" line, ESD, surge relief, leak detection, CP and telemetry systems. Supervising detailed design.
• 3-Phase Separation Upgrade Project. Responsible for FEED and detailed design phases for pipeline and plant piping.
• Asset Management. Involved in the development of an in- house asset integrity monitoring capability.
• Design review role for various subsea pipeline activities involving partnering companies e.g. ELF, Maersk, Mobil, ARCO.
• Involved in pipeline rehabilitation initiatives for onshore and subsea lines; fitness for purpose (FFP) assessments and high- resolution intelligent pigging programmes.

Technical and project-oriented function on North Sea and International projects:-

• Petrobras - Marlim P-XVIII. Design supervision, analysis and 'i-reel' installation of 10" & 12" rigid steel lines in 910 m water depth, including installation of reeled -riser.
• Deepstar Project. Irregular sea-state dynamic analysis for the conceptual phase of this ultra deep water initiative.
• BHP Griffon & SAGA Tordis fields. Dynamic analysis of flexible and steel catenary risers & pipelines using 'OFFPIPE' and 'Flexcom- 3D'.
• Reeled Pipeline Installation. lnter4ield flowlines and trunk lines for Texaco, Maersk & BP developments.
• Pipeline Mechanics. In-house evaluation of pipeline response under combined stress and external pressure during deep water installation. Arrest of propagating buckles and reeling mechanics were considered.
• Oman - India Pipeline. Feasibility study and concept development for hybrid lay-vessel configuration, designed to maximise both firing-line and tensioning capacity at steep pipeline departure angles.

Pipeline I Subsea Design Engineer, John Brown I Zeetech BV, The Hague, Netherlands

1989 to 1992

• Statoil - Europipe Development. Preliminary design phase responsibility for hydraulic calculation, wall thickness and material selection and installation analysis. Landfall, pipe-lay, tie-in and trenching philosophies were developed for this 600km, 40" gas line.
• ZADCO - Upper Zakum Field. Carried out FEED for subsea flowlines including hydraulic and stability analyses mechanical anchor and riser clamp designs.
• NOGAT - Major gas transmission line. Performed design integrity analysis for this large diameter offshore line, including shore pull, installation and pre-commissioning.

Civil I Structural Engineer

1988 to 1989

• Bontanga & Vea Earth Dams - Site Engineer for earth dam spillway and to~drain construction. Supervised earthworks and ancillary civil and structural works.

1987 to 1988

• Structural Design - Designed and detailed structural elements of multi-span composite bridges, including large span river crossing, rail bridge and temporary works. Integrity surveys I testing of concrete structures, recommending and supervising remedial action.

1985 to 1987

• Thistle & Beatrice field jackets. Detailed structural redundancy and fatigue analyses using 'SESAM' to establish platform integrity and identify maintenance strategy.
• Clyde & Amethyst field developments. jacket and module support frame design team. MSF and topsides weight loading, sea4astening design and lifting configurations. Involved in jacket launch and topsides load- out.

1984

• Tern field team. Conducted jacket analyses to outline capabilities of the SESAM and SEADYN FEA packages.
